I started this blog for the curious and adventurous crocheter that wants to come into the world of Irish Crochet but might be a little apprehensive about doing so. I was just that person a few months ago so come take the adventure with me. Here you can come and dabble, find out what it's all about, and see what supplies you need (you may already have some of them). I will post places on the net as well as locally where you might find supplies and what to get. I will give you a little background on how Irish crochet got started, why it's stayed so popular, and how I fell into this adventure... and it has been an adventure! I will tell you the do's and don't so you don't make the same mistakes I made and I will encourage you along the way because anyone who can chain, single crochet, double crochet, can see to read a pattern ( lol you have to be able to see to crochet but then again I saw on the net one time a blind woman who quilted and they were BEAUTIFUL so go figure. Knowing how to read a pattern is not really a prerequisite I'll take you step by step and teach you how. Don't ever think you can't do this IF you really want to... that's all it takes is DESIRE and you to can make some beautiful items. So come lets get a cup of tea (or coffee), turn on our lights, get out our supplies, even if its's a pencil and paper at first to just write down a list of things you'll need so WELCOME. In my next post which won't be till mid Sept. I will have pictures of the supplies needed and explain all of them for you.
